Morgan checked in to make sure we had what we needed during our four-night family hiking trip. The cottage was well appointed, tucked away somewhere quiet and beautiful, with Glencoe, plenty of walks and the visitor centre nearby.

We'd happily come back after our mountain trip with our two little dogs. The place was lovely and clean, and the underfloor heating was especially handy for drying our soaked clothes after a hike. We booked through Airbnb after trying to book directly. The room stayed too warm for us at night, even with the window open and the thermostat turned right down as we'd asked before arriving. Maybe that wouldn't matter in winter, but it was mild while we were there and we didn't need heating. A spatula for turning eggs or bacon would be useful. The pillows felt too soft to us, though that's personal preference, and there wasn't anywhere to hang clothes. A rail might help.

We spent two nights here with friends in December. The setting was nice, but we only found out the local pub was closed when we went to get dinner. The cabin had three bedrooms and two bathrooms, comfortable beds, and a fairly well equipped kitchen. Heated floors were great for drying our shoes, and the river outside made lovely natural white noise, even with the windows shut.

The Highlands can be chilly in mid-November, so the bathroom's underfloor heating was a welcome touch and helped keep the whole place warm. I booked this cosy little room through Airbnb as a one-night stopover. It had a very comfortable bed, kitchenette facilities, and a clean shower and toilet with plenty of hot water. The location was wonderfully peaceful, and deer came right up to the doorstep several times. The owners were easy to reach and connect with.

The Bothy Room was ideal for two nights with my daughter. It's a cute little place in a peaceful, convenient spot, and the beds were extremely comfortable. The property managers communicated well and emailed us everything we needed to get into the room, so arrival was easy.
