Castle View

We came at the end of October, when the weather was gloomy but beautiful, and the ferry drops you just down the hill from the B&B. Our only regret is that we didn’t stay longer. We’ll be back on our next Scotland trip. The meals were some of the best we had all trip. We chose both dinner and breakfast, and there was plenty to eat, lots of menu choices and accompaniments. Iain is a great cook and clearly knows hospitality. We had the kitchen to ourselves, and he checked in when needed. Our room at Iain’s was stocked with anything we might want, with a lovely elevated view of the port we’d arrived at.

Tom and Iain were incredibly kind when one of us got very sick overnight. They offered medicine, a takeaway breakfast, and more. We were those guests who rushed in with barely any time to enjoy the area, and the stay didn’t go as planned, but none of that was the hosts’ fault. The room was just right, with every detail thought through, and breakfast was beautifully laid out in the morning. The landscape is gorgeous, the drive there and back is spectacular, and we enjoyed a walk along the Loch. I only wish we’d had more time. Thanks for such a lovely stay. Definitely recommend to friends and family!

Iain cooked us delicious dinner both nights, and breakfast was just as good, with homemade bread, freshly squeezed orange juice, and plenty of choices for people who don’t eat meat. We had an amazing two days with Iain and Tom in June. The room was really comfortable and had lots of little luxuries. Best B&B we’ve ever stayed in, and we’ll definitely come back!

The food was glorious, and Ian, you’re a very talented cook! We loved discovering this scenic corner of Scotland. Castle View B&B was a highlight of our trip, with a beautiful room that had clearly been prepared with guests in mind. Highly recommend.
