Best Western Swiss Cottage Hotel

A quiet, very nice stay, with a big room. The reception staff were great, helpful, understanding and accommodating. Swiss Cottage station is extremely close, so you're only minutes from everywhere. Well done, keep up the good work!

We stayed for one night this past summer, and I hadn't stayed on London's north side before. It's a quiet, very nice area, with some good pub-restaurants nearby for dinner. Primrose Hill and Regent’s Park are close, and Swiss Cottage underground station is a short walk away. The staff were very helpful. For London hotel prices, it was reasonably good value. I'd recommend it.

The location was great, in a quiet neighborhood near the Jubilee line, and the staff were friendly. But we booked specifically because of the lift and weren't told it had been broken for an extended period. The sign on it looked old, and during our six days there we never saw anyone try to fix it. The stairs are tilted and wonky, making things even harder for people with mobility issues. My husband has a major back condition, so having no lift was a serious problem for us. I wish we'd known before the trip so we could have booked somewhere else. We thought about leaving early, but since we found out at check-in, it was hard to find another hotel with space for our party at short notice. On Sunday at 7 am, the fire alarm woke us. We texted reception on WhatsApp, the contact method we were told to use since there are no room phones, before trying to go downstairs. No reply came, so we went down and found the receptionist on a smoke break. We asked about the alarm and were told there was no fire and they didn't know why it was blaring. It went on for about 30 minutes. We got a response to our text around seven hours later. The rooms were dated but clean and functional. The windows didn't seem to lock shut, though being on the third floor meant we weren't too concerned. The TV only streamed and had no local channels, so without streaming subscriptions you're out of luck.

The breakfast was the best hotel breakfast we've had, and the dining room staff worked so hard. We were also made to feel very welcome by the reception team, especially Erika, Beatria and Tashala. Their friendliness made our stay memorable. Our room at the Best Western Swiss Cottage hotel was fabulous, with high ceilings, plenty of room to move around and everything we needed to feel at home. We stayed two nights for concerts at the Roundhouse, and it was easy to reach the venue and get around London. The underground is just a few steps away, with bus stops around the corner. We felt very safe and had everything on the doorstep. Can't praise the hotel and staff enough. We'll be back. Thank you, Best Western.
