Great location and really friendly staff, but the room was a bit of a joke. The beds looked like camp beds, and the mattresses didn't keep you from feeling the bars through the frame. The bathroom was odd too, never seen a wardrobe in one before. The place could use a proper deep clean.

The bedbugs are why I wouldn't stay here again, even though the staff were nice enough overall. I went on 15/08/2025, and the hotel was about a 10 minute walk from Paddington Station. Reception staff were polite and friendly, but my room was on the 5th floor and there was no lift, so I had to carry my suitcase up the stairs. It's an old house, so I expected that. I paid £56 for a small room with an ensuite shower and toilet, which seemed fair for the price. The lack of actual flooring surprised me, but I could manage for one night. I checked the mattress after watching a bit too much Four in a Bed, and saw a little critter crawl under the sheet when I lifted the bedding at the head. I hoped it was an ant or something else, but when I pulled back more bedding, four bedbugs crawled away. I circled the ones I saw, and I'm sure they were bedbugs. I left the room immediately and told reception. The receptionist didn't seem fully convinced and thought it might be a moth or summer bug, but he did give me another room free of charge. I searched that room very, very carefully and was glad to find nothing in the mattress or elsewhere. It was alright overall, but you wouldn't expect anything amazing at that price. The TV wasn't connected to the antenna either. I wish I'd taken a photo of the vermin, but I was too disgusted to lift the sheets again.

The bed was comfortable and clean, and the hotel is close to central London. But the room itself was poorly maintained and not clean, and could use a full refurbishment. The furniture was extremely old and worn. Floorboards squeaked, and I could hear noise from other rooms. On top of my wardrobe were what looked like used tissues and a sleeve of Viagra left by a previous guest. Disgusting.

It's cheap, but it isn't worth it, so spend a little more on a more reputable hotel. We found what looked a lot like bedbugs crawling on the curtains. The bathroom felt like hospital facilities and didn't have a lock. DO NOT STAY HERE!
