The breakfast team were superb, really warm and welcoming, and that smile first thing in the morning goes a long way. The room cleanliness was disappointing this time, though. I know the staff work hard, but the mirrors, bath and taps were dirty, and the floor hadn’t been vacuumed properly. We also didn’t have enough jiggers of milk for our two-night stay, and there was no room service. We’d been impressed when we stayed before, so this visit wasn’t as good.

The staff were probably the best part, friendly and accommodating. The rooms are dated, but clean. For the price and location it’s a good hotel. I was only there one night, so the space was more than enough. I tried breakfast too, and it was fairly good. Not a huge range, but what they had was done well.

We spent most of our one-night stay at the Holiday Inn out shopping. For the price, the hotel offers a lot of facilities for leisure and business guests, and the room was spacious for its price and location. We didn’t try the breakfast since it wasn’t included, though it seemed well priced for a buffet. The bedding was comfy, and there was enough room for luggage and bathroom storage to keep the surfaces tidy. The room was clean, and the TV was easy enough to use, though sometimes slow to respond. The window system feels outdated. We were on the 15th floor, and the shower took about a minute to warm up, as did the tap water. Small issues, really. I slept well, and it was easy to adjust the heating and AC to a comfortable temperature.

The price was the main draw, especially for this location. We were there for just one night on a mini getaway, and what we paid was very reasonable. The basic room felt dated and could use a little maintenance. The AC worked really well and got down to a very low temperature. Every interaction with staff was pleasant, and I’d definitely stay again.
