Premier Inn London Clapham

Rashmi, Naveed and Steven the Chef were especially kind. At breakfast they even heated up my own ginger tea in the microwave, since I have freshly squeezed ginger and lemon tea every morning. Breakfast itself was very good value, especially the hot dishes, but the staff’s kindness was what stood out from the usual. The check-in team were helpful too, offering an accessible room for my husband. They also had no problem with our late checkout. We stayed one night, 9-10 April. Well done, Premier Inn staff.

The room cleaning during our stay wasn’t great and needs improvement, so I’ve given the rooms three stars. Otherwise, I’d highly recommend the Premier Inn Clapham, which is well placed for transport into central London. The front-of-house team have been brilliant. Steven the chef is superb, always cheerful and welcoming, and happy to handle dietary needs easily.

It’s an okay choice for a short stay. The room was quiet, and breakfast was very good. There’s a bus station, supermarket and a few small restaurants nearby. But the room smelled very musty, there was mould in the bathroom, and the AC and heating didn’t work properly. We couldn’t open the windows. Staff couldn’t fix the problem and didn’t offer another room or an immediate price reduction. For a family room for four, there was no wardrobe or room to unpack a suitcase.

The room could have been cleaner, with hair on the bathroom floor and dust in the corners. I stayed one night very recently, and Malick at reception arranged both a room change and a later departure without any fuss. The breakfast staff were pleasant, polite and helpful as well, especially when I mentioned a maintenance issue in my room. It was a nice stay overall.
