The team even got my new Metcon Nikes back to me after I left them behind. That says a lot about how they look after guests. Service was friendly and helpful, always with a smile, and the value was great. Roxy Townhouses and Residences in King’s Cross is really close to the train station. I had a brilliant stay and this will be my local place to stay in London, along with my extended team. Highly recommended.
The location is fantastic, a few minutes from kings cross station, and the street is quiet. The decor is mostly fresh and modern. I liked the handwritten notes, welcome gift and sandwich, minibar snacks, and morning tea, and the shower had strong pressure and hot water. Those thoughtful touches and the service reviews were why we booked. This could have been a 5-star stay, but a number of easy-to-fix things got in the way. We had a superior double on the ground floor. The building’s front entrance was just on the other side of the wall from our headboard, and the door slams shut. Once tea deliveries began around 7-8am or guests started coming and going, the banging woke us and shook the bed. We never got to sleep in, which was especially rough while jet lagged on vacation. Tea was delivered before we were up and went cold quickly, since our room door was beside the entrance. The only morning we had any was the day we checked out. There was a mildew smell in the entryway, though not in our room. The bed was very high, handy for storing suitcases but awkward to climb into and out of. Photos of other rooms looked nicer than ours, with wood floors and latticed window shutters, so I was mildly disappointed. We also didn’t know there was an arcade room until afterward, because hotel information wasn’t provided well. Our room had no safe, tissue box, or full-length mirror. We booked through Expedia, which said a host would greet us at check-in. Instead, we received a text with the building number, room number, and code used for both. I actually like that check-in method, but Expedia needs to describe it correctly. We were confused on arrival and couldn’t access any of the buildings, while tired and jet lagged, before we’d checked our messages.
The room was tiny, but clean, tidy, and had all the amenities. The bed was really comfortable. We exchanged a lovely text beforehand to make sure we knew what to expect. It’s perfectly placed for an early start to St Pancras. I recommend staying here.
A cozy little room, just right for two, and so many thoughtful touches during our stay. This lovely spot is very close to St Pancras/Kings Cross, and we wished we could have stayed longer. Just a note to other guests: sound carries, so please be considerate of the people around you and try not to slam doors at 2am.
Room 5, the Crash Pad, was compact but comfortable for one. I liked the gift and extras, and the "Marshall Amp" fridge was fun. The location near King's X and St Pancras is excellent, and it was very quiet. The complimentary morning tea tray was a pleasant surprise. I had a small booking issue because the door entry details went to my spam folder, which I forgot to check. The host was very gracious about my "old man ranty messages" and accepted my embarrassed apology. The bathroom felt a little cramped to me, but it was fine for one night. I’d definitely stay again.
