Travelodge London Chessington Tolworth

For a short stay, my room had everything I needed and was clean and tidy. The housekeeping team clearly do a great job, and staff were cheerful and helpful the whole time. It’s conveniently located for nearby areas like Kingston and Surbiton. A budget-friendly choice that exceeded my expectations.

The carpet by the cupboard was soaked, and we only realised after changing because our socks got wet as soon as we stepped onto it. We’d checked in around 1am, exhausted and ready for bed. There wasn’t a phone in the room, so my husband had to get dressed again and go down to reception. The receptionist apologised and gave us a towel to put on the floor, but couldn’t do much else. I think room services should have caught this when checking the room. At checkout the next day, we asked to speak to a manager. We were told they weren’t available and that they’d call after 3pm. It’s now 11.30pm and I still haven’t heard anything.

The car park was dark, uneven and full of huge potholes, and getting to it meant using a narrow spiral ramp. I fell and was badly bruised, but the staff seemed completely uninterested. We’d also booked an accessible room, but it was given to someone else twice. I rang twice to arrange an accessible shower, and it still wasn’t available. The night staff didn’t speak much English. A total disaster.

The food was a lovely surprise. It was fresh, tasty and came out quickly, and breakfast had plenty to choose from with good coffee. At Travelodge Tolworth, the room was clean, cosy and looked after well. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout, and the location was convenient. The whole place felt relaxed and welcoming. I really enjoyed the stay and would happily come back.
