I hate ranting, but I hate uncaring people more. I had arranged a weekend here so I could take my 10-year-old daughter to the theatre for her birthday. Then lockdown came and the theatre tickets were cancelled. I also lost my job, and explained the situation to the owners in detail. I was willing to provide evidence that I was now receiving benefits. My refund request got a brief no, with no exceptions. They may not be obliged to help, but they chose not to. I'm sharing this wherever I can because I was disgusted by their attitude, and found forums where other accommodation owners were just as appalled. Thank goodness there are decent people around. If this leads a few people to stay somewhere else, I'd say what goes around comes around.

I couldn't manage the stairs to my room. They were so steep and narrow that I couldn't walk up them. While I was there, people checking out said awful things about the place. I called the number they gave me, found the man on the phone ridiculous, and asked him to cancel because the listing misrepresented the accommodation. He cancelled, but I never got my money back. Don't even consider staying here. It feels like a total scam. I don't understand why the police aren't investigating this place. Has Britain come to this?

I cancelled before staying because I was charged twice and couldn't get hold of the accommodation. They still owe me more than £200. I emailed and left a voicemail, but they haven't had the courtesy to respond. When I first called, the voicemail box was full, which wasn't a good sign. Avoid!
