Waterside Níké Apartments

The flat we were given was nothing like the one shown on the website, and the address listed there wasn't the property manager's current address either. After taking an Uber from the train station to the website address, I had to call the management office to get the correct one. We then had to haul heavy luggage up eight flights of stairs to a place so cramped that four adults couldn't stand together in the hallway. The carpets smelled musty, and the cheap furniture didn't even match. When I raised the accommodation problems with the manager, they said there was nothing else available. Only after I told them we wouldn't stay did they offer to move us into another apartment that had been reserved for someone else. My friends and I ended up finding somewhere else to stay in London.

We booked three two-bedroom apartments, and every one had problems. In the Crowder Street flat where I stayed, the water wouldn't heat up at first. I could reach the boiler and reset it, but it needed resetting several more times overnight. Later, I found bedbugs on the pillow and under the mattress, so I slept on the sofa, which might have had smaller bugs I couldn't see. Both guests had bites. The problems at the other two places were bad too. At Britton Street EC1m 5UG, the bedrooms and bathroom were filthy, there weren't enough towels, and one bed had no sheets or bedding. The boiler was locked away where guests couldn't reach it, the shower pressure was poor, and there was no hot water. On 06/12/2018 they brought towels and sheets, but the guests still had to run the shower for over 20 minutes, then wait around 45 minutes before the water finally got warm. The bathroom was still dirty, and they had to pull hair out of the shower drain. The water pressure remained poor. At Margery Street, WC1X 0JG, the bedrooms and bathroom were also incredibly dirty, with no hot water and a boiler locked in an inaccessible closet. On 06/12/2018, running the shower for more than 30 minutes still didn't warm the water. These were the reports from 05/12/2018 and 06/12/2018. Do yourself a favour and read the bad reviews before booking.

It felt like being at home, only a little more luxurious, and cost less than half the price of a hotel room. Best stay I've had in London. I'd definitely recommend it to a friend.

The place was spotless, had all the amenities included, and was in a great location. We loved our stay.
