We had a great short stay at Polrean, despite the usual mixed weather. The hosts took such good care of us, from giving us a lift to the local cider tasting tour to serving fab breakfasts. Nothing was too much trouble, and communication was great. The hotel was perfectly placed for exploring Looe and the surrounding area. We’d definitely recommend it!

Martin and Gill are excellent hosts, and their staff are polite, friendly and hardworking. Breakfast was excellent too! Polraen Country House is friendly and very comfortable, in an ideal, convenient spot near town, close to Sandplace train station, with a bus stop right outside.

Gill and Martin are so friendly and nice, and the waitress was friendly and helpful too. The breakfasts were awesome, with great produce cooked perfectly, three days on the trot. I’ve stayed at a few places in Looe, but this will be my first port of call now. Thank you! I was hesitant about staying 1.5 mile out of looe, but it was totally worth it. The hotel is traditional, clean and quiet, set in beautiful green countryside with trees and stunning views, plus parking. The train station is a few hundred yards across the road, with a five minute ride to looe that runs most of the day. Driving takes five minutes too, but the train has stunning views and means no parking worries.

Those quiet early walks outside were so relaxing, especially if you're used to city life. We could get to Polperro by bus, and it's a lovely little town worth seeing. The hotel is charming and peaceful, with the bus stop right outside. The beach is nearby, or about a five-minute drive, and Sandplace station is just two minutes up the road for trips further afield.

Gill & Martin made us feel welcome again, and we had another thoroughly enjoyable summer stay at Polrean. We came back after a wonderful visit last year. It's a beautiful country house, with a clean, comfortable room and a gorgeous breakfast.
