The room was clean and practical, though the bedding arrangement was odd: there was no duvet, just a slightly small sheet and a smaller blanket. The food was tasty, if probably not the healthiest. Breakfast let me down a bit. A cooked breakfast cost extra, while the continental selection felt very cheap, with thin bread for toast, few cereal choices, and quite a lot of fruit going off.

There’s plenty of parking, seating, and a lovely outdoor area at this dog-friendly pub. The staff are very friendly, and the food is delicious and good value. They even do doggy ice cream, which always gets polished off.

It’s a really nice restaurant, though it costs a bit more than a typical mid-range place. For a meal that feels a little special, I think it’s well worth it.

We stopped in before the Fireworks at The Moorings. With very little notice, they managed to fit in my family of four, and the service was excellent. The Maître d was particularly friendly and helpful. The food was good pub grub and reasonably priced.
