The prices are really good for both food and drinks, and the staff are lovely. It’s usually a lively place, with entertainment on regularly, so it’s great for meeting friends for a drink. I’ve tried a few meals here and never had a bad one. Sunday lunch was especially delicious and filling. Thanks for another good visit, I’ll be back soon.

We only came in for Friday dinner, as we weren’t staying at the hotel. It was packed, but our food arrived without a wait, hot and nicely presented. The sea bass and crab fish cakes were lovely. We finished with cheesecake and a cheese board, both good value.

The courtyard garden is a real highlight, with a big wooden gazebo and heating. Inside, there are separate areas for eating, relaxing, and watching sports. The staff are welcoming and clearly enjoy being there, and there’s a great choice of beers. We didn’t eat, though the menu looked appealing and reasonably priced. We’ll be back 👍

A traditional pub and tavern with rooms available. There’s a friendly feel, and plenty of local lunchtime drinkers, though it doesn’t feel crowded. The outside area is more spacious than indoors. Free parking is available with a token from the bar.

That pint of local ale was so good that the man at the next table noticed how pleased I looked. Lunch was delicious and fairly priced, with the sort of homemade, from-scratch feel I remember from years ago. The service was friendly and efficient, and the whole place was spotless. Very happy with it.
