SAM made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived, with friendly service and a warm atmosphere throughout. My friend Charlie and I had a large Full English breakfast, and I'd say it may be the best in Lyme Regis. Thanks so much, we'll be back soon :-)

The food choice was great, especially the specials board. They catered for gluten intolerance, though I'm not sure whether everything was fully gluten free. I think the chips were, but I can't say about the other food. Only thing missing was a roaring fire!

We popped in for tea and coffee, but the bacon rolls looked so good that we decided to try one. The place had a very pleasant feel, and the staff were polite with prompt service.

We've been to Lyme so many times, but this was our first visit here. The rain and wind sent us in, then the menu caught our eye. Great views from the window, a lovely atmosphere with plenty of history, and friendly, accommodating staff. The homemade soup was out of this world, honestly the best mushroom soup I've had in ages. It came with a big piece of tasty warm bread and plenty of butter. I also had a cheese panini I hadn't expected, and it was lush, with proper mature Cheddar rather than cheap plastic cheese. Five stars! 🎉🥳🎉

I left disappointed after spending £47 on three hot chocolates, two tuna and cheese jacket potatoes, and a child's lasagna. For nearly £50, I'd expected a much better lunch. I don't usually post a negative review, but the food didn't seem worth the price. The lasagna tasted heavily microwaved and not fresh. The potatoes were bland, with hardly any mayonnaise or flavour, and the cheese looked like cheap pre-packed slices put on top. The quality didn't match what we paid. I probably should have mentioned it while we were there, though there wasn't much to ask about, the food simply fell short of expectations. It was frustrating to have the cost and experience feel so out of step, and we left with a bitter taste.
