The Pilot Boat

This was our third visit to the Pilot Boat, after a slightly disappointing experience last year. I'm glad to say the food and service were very good this time. We both had mussels to start and Pollock for mains, and both were excellent. We're thinking of coming back to the area next year and would certainly return.

Everything was perfect from Johnny showing us to our room until we left. The Pilot Boat was recommended to us, and we were happy with the choice: a friendly pub, helpful staff and an amazing selection of well-kept beers. Our room was clean, nicely presented and had everything we needed. My partner was impressed by the Dyson hairdryer, and now wants one herself, which is the only downside! I also liked the room door badges. Breakfast was amazing, and you could tell they use high quality ingredients. We'll definitely be back soon.

We enjoyed our two-night break and fully intend to return. The spacious, well-equipped room had a sea view, the breakfasts were generous and good quality, and all the staff were very friendly. Dinner was excellent too. It exceeded our expectations. Thank you, Pilot Boat team!

The room had some lovely touches, including good tea, coffee and beer, and the place itself was nice. But the guest next door had friends over making noise until 2am. I couldn’t sleep, which was especially rough with a long drive home afterwards. There was no one I could contact to help, so sadly I wouldn’t stay again. Two stars because I barely slept.
