The room was clean, the hotel was clean, and the staff were friendly, but at £70 a night it felt a bit overpriced. The bed was possibly the most uncomfortable I’ve ever slept in, and I hardly slept. The pillows were OK and the duvet was nice and warm, but the bottom sheet was too small for the bed. There was a kettle in the room with nothing to make a hot drink, so it was pretty pointless. Still, it gave us somewhere to rest after a day of driving.

I booked a room in advance but couldn’t get there because the weather was extreme and dangerous. I asked for a refund or credit to use another time. I thought that was reasonable given what happened, but they refused. I’d suggest not paying in advance.

It was a very basic room, but to be honest, you get what you pay for. It was only £70 for the night with insurance. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t stay here again.

The tea was nice, at least. But there was loud crying from children at 3 am, late check-ins, and what I think was scurrying inside the walls. After a six-hour drive with my family, we arrived expecting the friendly staff to make the £50 a night motel worthwhile. Then our room window looked straight onto a solid brick wall. The sofa bed was awful: its mattress was so thin and the metal frame so harsh that it felt like it was punching my spine. I ended up on the floor, where the paper-thin mattress left me practically touching the floor all night.
