We were so taken with the welcoming, relaxing feel of The Thames Riviera Hotel that we added a third night to our original two-night booking. The staff were warm and helpful throughout, and Paul especially went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable. His kindness and professionalism gave the stay a personal touch. The riverside views were a real highlight. We loved waking up to the peaceful scene and watching boats go by. Our room was spacious, clean and beautifully presented, with a calm feel, a very comfortable bed and a modern, powerful shower that was one of the best we’ve had in a hotel. The team also handled our gluten-free breakfast without any fuss, which was reassuring. Breakfast was fresh and enjoyable each morning, served with great hospitality. We had a fantastic stay and would gladly return or recommend the hotel to anyone after a comfortable break by the river.

We only meant to stop at the Thames Riviera for coffee, but the restaurant impressed us enough that we stayed for lunch. The outside looks a little tired, though inside it’s huge, well appointed and was refurbished a couple of years ago. It looks out over the river, as does the very large outdoor seating area, which would be lovely for a summer drink. I had fish and chips, while my friend chose a smoked salmon bagel. Both were delicious and reasonably priced. The two guys serving us were very friendly, and the service was excellent. We’ll certainly come back, and I’d recommend it for a riverside visit.

The GLS Christmas party here was a great time, with a lovely atmosphere all night. The food was delicious, service spot on, and everything ran smoothly. Emilia, the housekeeping Manager, made sure we felt welcome and comfortable. Many thanks to her, and great work by everyone. I’d definitely recommend it for a work party.

We had around 50 guests for my wife’s big birthday party, using both rooms in the small annex beside the hotel exclusively. They’d recently been redecorated and suited us perfectly. There was plenty of varied food, nicely presented, and the staff were unfailingly helpful and polite. Couldn’t fault anything.

Room 415 was spacious and clean, though a bit old fashioned, and there were lots of parking spaces. The staff were friendly, and the food was excellent, better than some restaurants I could name. We’ve just come back from two nights at this riverside hotel. It’s well located for exploring, and I hope the new chef stays, as we’re planning to return in the Spring.
