Lister Arms

Breakfast was great, and they were very accommodating with dogs. The room had plenty of supplies and the food was good, though the menu was fairly small. Some parts of the accommodation looked a bit worn. For a one night stay it was at the expensive end, especially with the extra £20 charge for a small dog in a cage.

We had a fantastic dinner, and the staff were attentive and courteous throughout. The room was comfortable and came well stocked with tea, coffee and cookies. The bar had a lovely cosy feel with its classic fireplace. It’s a beautiful spot for walking, and we’d recommend the foss, scar, cove loop. Worth every penny.

The communal lounge and the dog and boot wash areas, along with the drying room, made our walking trip with the dog so easy. We stayed as a couple in The Barn, where our room was clean, comfortable and full of character. It’s a genuinely welcoming place for dogs, with a warm pub atmosphere. The location is right in the village and great for walks to Malham Cove, Gordale Scar, Janet’s Foss and the tarn. We had breakfast there every morning, with lots of choice and really good quality food. We also ate in the pub twice and enjoyed both meals, with friendly, polite service each time. A brilliant spot for walking, good food and travelling with a dog. Highly recommend!

Claire looked after us brilliantly, attentive without ever hovering. The rooms were lovely, and the staff were amazing. The food was outstanding, especially the venison scotch egg. Another great visit to The Lister Arms. We’ll definitely be back. Thanks to everyone.
