The Cock O’Barton grounds are stunning, and the venue itself is beautiful, with lovely rooms. The team is what made it special, though. Every planner, chef, and bar staff member was helpful and kind. Alethea, Jane, and Katie really made our day, and anything the team could do for us, they did without hesitation. We found the venue on an app while looking for somewhere to get married. At our first meeting, our planner Sian was organised and lovely, and had prepared a two-page document explaining the costs and how the day could run. While we viewed the private dining room, we heard the chefs cheering. They were watching football while cooking, and we loved that everyone seemed to enjoy working there. Sian left partway through the planning, and Alethea took over. I was a bit nervous about the change, but she was wonderful from her first message. The handover had already happened, she knew what we wanted, and she understood the vibe we were after. I could go on and on about how great this place is. If you’re hesitating about booking, this is your sign to do it. Thank you, Mr and Mrs Roper!! Xx

The stay was fantastic value at the current Sunday price of £125. That covered the overnight room, £50 towards food and drink, and a cooked breakfast the next morning. I booked the 'Date & Dine' for me and a dear friend, so we could finally catch up after too long. We spent a few hours chatting in a cosy twin room with a lovely view. It was a good size, had everything we needed, and the thermostat could be adjusted. I especially liked the shortbread and cafetiere on the tea tray. We both chose beef for dinner. A couple of small issues came up, and the staff addressed them with a kind apology gesture that we hadn’t expected but really appreciated. The meal was lovely, as were the cocktails and vino. We slept comfortably, enjoyed a powerful shower in the morning, and had a beautiful full English breakfast before leaving. Everyone we met on the staff was super friendly and helpful. Thanks so much for a fabulous stay and great value 😊

The food was absolutely delicious, the drinks at the bar were great, and the service was quick with friendly staff. A wonderful dining experience. We’re definitely going to become regulars!

The bar was packed to the rafters, but the atmosphere was brilliant. Parking seemed a bit limited when it was full, though it was dark, so I can’t be sure there was no more. The pints were great and the food was really good. I went for a party and will come back another time to properly try the food. A great place with a great atmosphere.

We visited with friends on a very hot day, and it was lovely and cool inside despite the heat. The venue was lovely, the staff all gave pleasant service, and the food was delicious. I’d definitely recommend it and visit again.
