Hartswood Farm

We spent four nights in Cowshed Cottage with our two Labradors. It was spotless and had everything we needed for our little break. The owners who live on site are lovely and welcoming, and the swimming pool is spot on. We’ll definitely return.

We’d love to come back. The house was very well maintained, and the facilities all looked in good order, though the gravel parking area and path to the pool could be tricky for some people to walk on. The three bedroomed house was perfectly clean and well equipped, with an en suite for each bedroom and a downstairs toilet. There was plenty of room to spend time together or find some peace in another room. Outside, a picnic table overlooks the pygmy goats, free range chickens, and outdoor reared pigs. A parasol and extra seating would be useful there. We could also enjoy the sunset from the outdoor area and conservatory.

We made good use of the very large pool and jacuzzi, and the owners were welcoming and friendly. There were four adults in the enormous, well equipped farmhouse. Most evenings we sat in the conservatory admiring the stunning countryside and watching the goats and chickens. We even knew all the goats by name. It’s an ideal spot for a relaxing family holiday.

We love the lovely surroundings and having a private swimming pool here, and the place is well placed for both the coast and the North Yorkshire Moors. We’ve stayed several times, and this was another fantastic visit. The new owners made us feel welcome and have lots of renovation plans. I’m looking forward to seeing what they bring.
