The kitchen has what you need for cooking and laundry, and the location is good. My room was basic but did the job as somewhere to sleep. It also looked worn out: the carpet was really grubby, there was lots of long blond hair in the bathroom, and the place needed a proper deep clean. The WiFi was frustratingly poor. With four floors and just one router, they could use some boosters.

The street was quiet, and we had lovely weather for the balcony opposite our room. Taxis were reasonably priced if you didn’t fancy the 40-minute walk. The shared kitchen was fine, but calling this an apartment was a bit misleading. There really should be a kettle in the room. Having to go down three flights of stairs just to get tea, then carry it back up without spilling, was a challenge.

We stayed from 18 to 21 August 2023 and found it peaceful, spacious and clean. We hardly noticed the other residents. The location made it easy to reach Manchester city centre and the surrounding suburbs, and there was free street parking behind the building. We could cook, clean and even do laundry, so it suited us well. We’d definitely recommend it.

Read the reviews before booking. This is a shabby company. Beware.
