Dead insects in the room, webs in every corner, mold, and tea things that hadn't been washed. There were marks on the walls, peeling paint, and sockets coming away from the wall. The beds were barely passable. We'd booked months ahead and were shown pictures of a different hotel. This place is disgusting. I wouldn't stay again even if I were paid, let alone pay 170 pounds for two nights in this dump.

The only good thing about our stay was that nobody died. The building seemed to be falling apart, with a socket coming loose from the wall and plasterboard ceiling sagging in lots of places. Surely there are health or safety code violations.

This is a distinctive piece of post-industrial heritage, still standing amid the gentrification of castlefield. It'll outlast the fashionable bars that come and go.

We had to leave at 1am and find another hotel because this was a disgusting, tick-infested dump. The one saving grace was that they refunded our money.

It'll do if you're away with the lads to watch a match and just need somewhere to put your head down, as long as you're not fussy. Not the sort of place I'd choose for a romantic getaway with the wife.
