My daughter was completely taken with the TV setup, especially the chalkboard on the back that she could draw on. It was such a fun touch for families. We also really liked the bar and restaurant, and the gym was well equipped. Free filtered water around the hotel was handy too. The Treehouse Hotel Manchester has a playful, nature-inspired look with a modern city feel, and it’s cosy and thoughtfully done. Its central location made getting around easy, including the roughly four-minute walk to Manchester Arndale for shopping or food. Precious looked after us so well and made us feel welcome. We had a lovely stay and would happily return.
The bed felt just right, and the blackout curtains did their job. We also liked the TV that swivels, especially being able to sign into Netflix, and having a yoga mat in the room was a nice extra. The decor was gorgeous, the theme was fun, and the location worked well for us. The staff were helpful and lovely, and texting them with questions was easy. They made a real effort to mark our birthdays, which we appreciated. There were a few small teething problems that I’ve contacted the hotel about separately. I probably wouldn’t pay extra for a view room, but we’d definitely come back.
The gym was a real standout for me. I travel a lot and rarely find a hotel fitness room this well equipped, with enough there for a proper full training session rather than just a quick workout. Breakfast was another strong point, with plenty of choice, good quality and attractive presentation. Our room was elegant and carefully put together, and the bed was especially comfortable. There was a wide range of pillows, which made for some of the best sleep I can remember having in a hotel. The location was convenient and pleasant too. I’d gladly stay here again.
The restaurant staff were lovely, and the room and facilities were really nice. The frustrating part was how check-in was handled. We arrived by train at 10am and understood that an early check-in wasn’t guaranteed. At reception, though, we were told we’d get an email when our room was ready. We waited in the restaurant with about six other parties who’d been told the same thing. At 2pm, a new guest arrived, checked in and got a room card, while none of us waiting had our keys. I went to ask at the desk and was told our room was ready. We’d already been sitting there for four hours. I’m fine with not being able to get into a room early, but don’t promise an email and then leave guests waiting without one. We were right by the lobby, so staff knew we were there. It felt like they didn’t want early check-ins, and the system should at least let people know when their rooms are ready. The restaurant team were kind, but the check-in experience was poor.
Our suite was roomy, spotless and had some lovely little details. The hotel is full of quirky touches, and you can tell they’ve thought about the design. Luke welcomed us at reception with a big smile and was engaging and really knowledgeable about the local area and where to go for a night out. A stunning place for a Manchester break. We’d recommend it.
