We arrived in town for the first time and were looking forward to getting something to eat. Unfortunately, we hadn't seen the dreadful reviews beforehand, and our own experience was horrific. My daughters and I ordered at least £50 worth of food and drink. My husband joined us while finishing a pasty he'd brought from home for our walk along the coast. The manager/owner came over and very rudely told him to stop eating it or leave. We were shocked, as we'd been polite and had just placed our order, so we cancelled and decided to spend our money elsewhere. On the way out, a member of staff made a culturally insulting remark and told my daughter, “don’t spill your coffee on yourself on the way out”. Extremely unprofessional, and such a shame. Read the reviews before spending your time and money.

For the highest B and B rate of our whole nine-day walk, we expected more. We were walking the Coast Path with our own packs, and there weren't even any toiletries. The place was clean, but tired, with little attention to detail, and the welcome felt halfhearted. It's in a stunning location and could be a beautiful B and B, but it didn't deliver. It felt as if the owners were resting on their laurels because of the setting. We were there on a Saturday, which had limited our other accommodation options. A real disappointment. We wouldn't recommend staying here.

We spent three nights in a twin room at this B/B. The bedding and towels were clean, and the beds were comfortable, so we slept well. From the side window there was a view of St Michael's Mount. Breakfast was tasty, and the host and the lady serving it were friendly and chatty. I'd stay again. 😊

We'd planned to pass through, but after a hard day's work for Vikki, not us, we met her in the local pub and ended up chatting with her and some other locals. They talked us into staying the night in our campervan, partly because they insisted Vikki sells the BEST pasties. We arrived early while she was setting up, and she told us to come inside rather than wait outdoors. It felt like we'd known her for years. The pasties lived up to the build-up: we tried a traditional giant one and a "power veg" one, and both were delicious. Since we were in Cornwall and talking about holidays, we also had to try the cream tea. Just eat it the Cornish way, jam first, then cream! We've had plenty of pasties and scones over the years, and these were among the best. The staff were amazing too, and we'd love to keep in touch and visit again when we're back in the area. The queues are worth it, we'd recommend it to anyone visiting!

The scones were so dry they were barely edible, and tasted worse than cheap factory-made ones. The jam was poor quality too, while the cream tasted as if it was ‘on the turn’. This wasn't at all what we expected for the price. My family and I visited the tea rooms last week, and the experience left us disappointed and spoiled the first day of our holiday. We won't be back.
