The owners made us feel very welcome, and we’d love to come back to Matlock and stay at Cedar House again. It’s in a fantastic spot, quiet but just around the corner from the bars, restaurants and shops, with the river and a big park behind it. Our top-floor room was clean, warm and cosy, with a fridge, kettle and assorted drinks sachets. The hot shower was lovely too. Breakfast was amazing for both choice and quality, probably the best full English we’ve ever had.

We stayed over New Year and found the place cosy, clean and quiet. The staff were easy to talk to, and breakfast was fresh and good. The attic room gave us those cabin or cottage vibes without costing too much. It’s also surprisingly close to the town centre and the park.

Breakfast was the best value we’ve had at any of the hotels we’ve stayed in so far. The owner and the lady who looked after us were wonderful, and nothing felt like too much trouble. My wife and I had a lovely stay here in February. It’s ideally placed in the Peak District, with free parking just off the main road. We’ll stay again whenever we’re in the area.

We stayed a few days in the River View room at Cedar House BnB and will definitely return. The room was spotlessly clean and had a lovely balcony overlooking the Derwent River. Ana is a gem and nothing is too much trouble. Breakfast had lots of choices and was beautifully cooked. We’ll recommend it to family and friends, Sue and Clive.
