We’ll definitely come back. Sarah and the bar team were welcoming, and when my friend decided at the last minute to stay too, Sarah sorted a room for her without any fuss. The rooms are beautiful, with very comfortable beds, lovely bedding, nice touches, good tea, digital radios and Jack in the box. There are TV screens, but they’re for watching DVDs. It was cheese night, and Sarah came out to the beer garden to tell us the cheese had arrived. I couldn’t name them all, but every one was delicious and freely available at the bar. Lovely locals and gorgeous dogs added to the welcome. After a long walk, I was glad it was quieter than it gets when bands play. There’s a really good choice of cask and keg beers, plus good takeaways nearby. The noisy extractor fan outside switching on and off was the only downside, though it didn’t spoil my stay. We were too early in the week to see the gallery.

The owner told us about the building’s history, and we loved the place’s atmosphere, colourful trinkets and friendly faces. It’s a stunning little corner of the world, and it’s dog friendly too. We tried a gluten-free beer and a cider on tap; both were lovely and very reasonably priced. My partner collects vinyl and was delighted by the records for sale, leaving with three. We’ll definitely return and 100% recommend it. You won’t be disappointed.

Dom's is doing the food now, and it’s the best street-style food I’ve ever had. Everything’s cooked fresh, so expect a wait, but it’s well worth it.
