The staff were great, all friendly and helpful, and the location in Matlock Bath was good. Just be aware the hotel sits up a very steep hill, so walking into town may be difficult depending on the children’s ages. It was a nice stay, though the rooms were very basic and weren’t serviced while we were there. I may have missed this when booking. The kettle was clean but smelled of melting plastic. Breakfast wasn’t very desirable either. Young kids might have fun here because of the theme, and there are children’s games in the lobby and restaurant in the evenings. I’m unsure whether we’d stay again, but the staff and location were good.

I’m absolutely furious. The postcode took me somewhere else, and I got a £60 parking fine at that same postcode. Be very careful travelling to this area.

The room was good, basic but had what our family needed. There were evening events, an on-site restaurant, a small playground and things to keep the kids busy. We’ll be back. The location was confusing: it isn’t here, it’s inside Gulliver's kingdom. The booking confirmation said Gulliver's resort, but it’s actually Explorer's Retreat inside the theme park.
