We came as a family looking for a cosy pub dinner, and the friendly, warm atmosphere and great service made it one of my best meals out. The pies were delicious, and the pastry was fantastic. I liked that they focus on pies and do them so well. I chose the vegetarian curry pie, which was full of flavour and really satisfying. It felt carefully thought out, with a lovely mix of textures and flavours, rather than an afterthought. They also kindly made fish fingers for the younger person in our family, even though they weren't on the menu. The sticky toffee pudding with homemade coconut ice cream was divine. Thanks for making such a welcoming place for visitors and the local community.

We didn't stay overnight, just ate and had drinks, and were really impressed. The vegan pies were amazing, and the meat ones are the talk of the town. The wine list is fantastic, as are the local stout and cider. Then we had the Cranachan cheesecake, which was delicious. Definitely worth visiting if you're within 100 miles.

The food and beer were excellent, with great service from really welcoming hosts. It's a small, cosy village pub, and the log burning stove was lit while we were there. We'll recommend it to all our holiday cottage guests looking for somewhere good to eat, as good options are a bit scarce in the Borders. We'll definitely come back.

We had pies and brisket Mac and Cheese, and both were absolutely delicious. Our toddler was made to feel very welcome too. A lovely little village pub, warm and cosy, with a comfortable and friendly feel.

We went in for a meal and really enjoyed it. The pies were lovely, and the biscoff cheesecake and homemade mint chocolate chip ice-cream were delightful.
