My wife has a milk intolerance, and they were fantastic about checking she would be okay. My wife and I had a lovely light lunch, a freshly prepared Tuna Melt and BLT, and the service was a 10. We'll definitely go back.

The rooms are basic, but have what you need, so I'd stay again. I was in town for an event in Bangor and stayed one night. It was a little further away than I'd expected, though fortunately I got a lift there and a taxi back. I didn't use the pub, so this is just about the room. Check-in is behind the bar, and once you're checked in you're free to come and go. You use a key fob to get in via the fire escape.

The room had tea and coffee facilities, and shower gel was provided. The sink was so shallow that I had to fill the kettle using the shower head 😂. Rooms are reached by stairs only, so it may not suit someone with disabilities or large suitcases. It wasn't loud on a Sunday night, and the location is handy, just a short walk from the Menai Bridge. It does the job if you just need a bed in a convenient spot.

The complimentary tea was lovely. I need more of that in my life. I stayed for one night and everything felt pleasant, from the lovely lady who checked me in through to leaving in the morning. The room was clean, comfortable and welcoming. It got a bit noisy outside at closing time, but that's to be expected with a room above a pub. I'll definitely book again for future trips to N Wales.
