Cathy’s warm welcome and attention really touched us. Her Inspirational Barn tells the story of her life and how she created this place. The farm has a unique character, and the house is said to be around 600 years old, with a very special feel. We were very happy with our stay in the Foxden room, which had its own bathroom and was lovely and perfectly clean. We also had a hawk and owl experience. The owls are magnificent and well worth seeing in the Owl Garden. There are horses for riders; we only briefly saw them in the stables, but that was a great experience too. They’re all different and beautiful. Breakfast was great as well. Very much recommend!

The experience leader was friendly and full of information. We learned loads about the birds and how they behave in the wild while flying three birds each in a private barn. Before that, we were invited to visit the birds in their individual enclosures, around 30+ of them. We booked an hour-long private owl flying experience at Exmoor Owl & Hawk Centre while on holiday in Minehead. Afterwards, we went to the stables to meet the horses. A lovely lady who worked there told us about them and let us get close. It was a brilliant experience, unlike what you’d normally do at a bird centre. I’d 100% recommend it to anyone who loves birds and wants to try something different!

Seeing the beautiful owls up close and watching them fly was something special. The host knew so much, and we found the insights into the different species really interesting. We had such a magical visit this afternoon, a brilliant way to end our Exmoor holiday!

We were very happy customers after a morning flying different owls, plus a kestrel, buzzard, and Harris Hawk. The owner, Rod, explained everything perfectly, and we could wander around the grounds at our own pace before heading into one of the Barns to fly the younger birds. My personal favourite was the ‘barn owl with a tan’. Cathy finished things off with cream tea.

Seeing so many owls up close was a real highlight. The talk about the rare, beautiful birds of prey was both interesting and fun, and the presenter knew the subject well. Their replies to questions could come across a bit rude, though.
