Myrtle Cottage B&B

I’ve never stayed in a better B&B. Neil and Tyrone were wonderful hosts and took care of everything. The rooms were fresh and beautifully decorated, with comfortable beds and all the things you might need. Breakfast was fantastic. I particularly liked the thoughtful extras: cake when we arrived, local chocolate in the room and biscuits. Parking was easy, and there are lots of lovely walks nearby.

The welcome from Neil and Tyrone was warm and genuine, and the care they put into every detail was remarkable. It’s a beautiful cottage in a great spot, with lovely rooms and a superb breakfast. This is the best bed and breakfast I’ve stayed in.

What a lovely night at Myrtle Cottage. We were made to feel so welcome in this 450-year-old thatched cottage, and even found that our car windscreens had been washed when we left. There’s a beautiful garden where guests are encouraged to sit, and lots of the thoughtful touches other people have mentioned are just as good as they say. We were greeted with lemon drizzle cake, local teas and lovely chocolate treats. Thank you both for such generous hospitality.

The rooms are small and, in an old cottage, there isn’t much space. Still, the rest more than made up for it. The decor is lovely, the sheets crisp, the rooms neat and well equipped, and the shower has great pressure. Service was fantastic, and the hosts were funny and delightful, going out of their way to make the stay special. And breakfast was the best in Porlock! We’ll be back for another memorable visit.
