The Gables

Dave and Sue are super friendly hosts. We stayed two nights while walking around Exmoor, and had everything we needed in the very nice room. There’s a lovely garden and guest lounge with lots of books, games and DVDs to use in the evenings. A full cooked breakfast is included, and there was lots of useful information about the local area.

Everyone here and in the village was incredibly friendly. They put us at ease and tried hard to accommodate our needs, and the room was spotless. Parking was a slight hassle because it was hard to park right at the building, though we managed a short walk away. With small children, I’d suggest a sling instead of a pushchair, since the nearby streets have incomplete pavements and narrow roads. The breakfasts are well made with quality ingredients and attention to detail. I’d come back as often as I can. So, fellow travellers, it’s terrible, stay away and leave the rooms free for me! Mwah Ha Ha!

The comfiest bed I’ve ever slept in, and she was so accommodating with me and my dog. We arrived soaked and covered in mud, but she was relaxed about everything and helped us get dry and out of the rain. She even provided a dirty towel to dry my dog. Amazing night and breakfast. I’ll definitely be back, 11/10.

Fantastic stay. The bed was comfy, breakfast gorgeous, and our hosts were so friendly. The prettiest B&B we’ve ever stayed in. Can’t wait to return.
