The food was the highlight of our overnight stay, and the bill was very reasonable for the quality. Dinner was superb, with venison and John Dory mains served beautifully with asparagus, long stem broccoli, green beans and potatoes. My John Dory came with lemon butter, capers and almonds, a perfect combination. We also had goats cheese arancini with chutney and salad, and a pudding with a raspberry compote to die for. Everything is homemade, including the bread we tried at breakfast. Breakfast had plenty of choices, including eggs benedict, smoked salmon, kippers and porridge. It was all cooked to order and delicious. This is far beyond average pub grub. We had a very comfortable, well-equipped, dog-friendly room opening onto the outside courtyard, with a decent bath and shower. The friendly, accommodating staff made us feel welcome. It’s a lovely pub B&B in a beautiful village near Exmoor, and we can’t wait to return.

We’ve just returned from our first visit to your restaurant, and can’t wait to come back. My husband, mother-in-law and I had the most delicious food, and the best Sunday roast we’ve had in years. The service was impeccable, the welcome was wonderful, and even our elderly Weimaraner was made welcome. We enjoyed pre-dinner drinks in the beautiful little garden, and found the atmosphere so relaxing, with stylish decor. This lovely thatched country place in Winsford is a sure winner. We only wish we’d visited sooner. Thank you.

I stayed here in January 2026 and had a fantastic time. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, and nothing felt like too much hassle. They even adjusted the menu to suit our tastes. The rooms were very comfortable, and the hot water never ran out. I’ll definitely return.

The food was genuinely homemade and far better than the usual fare. Our friends and we all enjoyed the very good vegetarian and meat options. The staff were kind, helpful and friendly. Fabulous, and I’ll definitely go again when I’m in the area.

We stayed on Saturday 7th March with our Frenchie Lilah, and had a five-star experience from arrival to departure. The hostess was lovely, as was the young man working in the bar and restaurant. Breakfast was superb, and everyone was happy to help with anything. We thoroughly enjoyed the stay. Thank you, Julien, Sara and Lilah the Frenchie.
