The Buccleuch Arms Hotel made a fantastic base for a weekend ride, with secure undercover motorcycle parking, a bike cleaning area, a map room and a cosy TV lounge with open fires. The bar is well stocked too, just right for unwinding after a day on the road. I stayed in Room 2, which was spotless, comfortable and full of character. The shower was lovely and hot with great pressure, the kind you don't want to step out of. Dave and his family made me feel genuinely welcome, and nothing seemed too much trouble. It's rare to find somewhere so personal and friendly, while also being set up so well for bikers. They operate as a B&B through the winter and a full hotel for the rest of the year, so it's a great base all year. I can't recommend The Buccleuch Arms Hotel highly enough.

A lovely hotel right in the town centre. The owners and staff were so welcoming and friendly, and even offered us a lift to the distillery for our tour. People kept telling us what a lovely hotel it was when they heard where we were staying. A lovely place to visit.

I stayed here while working nearby in mid Dec 25, during the winter season. The room was cosy, clean and tidy, with a newly fitted bathroom, and everyone on staff was lovely and attentive. The cooked breakfast was my highlight, easily the best hotel breakfast I've been served, 10/10. I'll stop here again if work brings me back to the area.

The black moffat stout is well worth trying, and the food was great too. I loved the steak pie and the African curry dish. The staff were lovely, and it's dog friendly. I'd recommend booking a table since it can get busy. I'd definitely come back.

This was my second visit this year, and the family running the hotel are lovely, always ready to help. They know their bikes and routes, and the place is set up well for bikers. The evening food was amazing, especially the steak pie and the Boboti, which you should try. Good bar, great value. Highly recommend.
