The hosts had left a fantastic spread of nibbles, with the children in our group thoughtfully included. It was a brilliant place to play sardines, and we liked it enough to try booking again for Twixmas 2025, but we were too late. The only drawback for us was outside: there wasn't really a garden, and the property was close to a busy road and roundabout, so we couldn't leave the dogs or young kids out there unattended.

We had a great weekend for some big birthdays, with 14 ladies staying for three nights. There are lovely big bedrooms, two large sitting rooms and a big dining room, plus everything we needed in both kitchens. The basement party area was a bonus. There are nice walks nearby, and Dumfries is about half an hour away for celebrations.

I’ve been coming to this area for years, so finding this little property was a lovely surprise. It’s wonderfully peaceful, and the accommodation is more than acceptable. Moffat is close by and well worth a visit. I’d thoroughly recommend staying here.

There’s loads of room for a big group, with plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms, two kitchens, ample parking, and shops and nearby villages close at hand. The outdoor furniture really needs replacing: some of it was falling apart and left us with lots of scratches. We also got incredibly warm, so it would be nice if the windows opened.

We rented the place for a friend's hen weekend and had a fab time. It works well for a large party, with lots of bedrooms, bathrooms and lounge areas, plus two kitchens. We hired It's A Knockout style inflatables for the garden, and it was only a short walk to the village pub for a decent meal. Check-in and check-out times were reasonable, and the price was great when shared among a good-sized group.
