Wendy made us feel very welcome and arranged my late arrival and early breakfast requests. The food was very good, especially the Arbroath smokies, which I'd highly recommend. She also gave us a useful list of local restaurants, so I found somewhere nice to eat each night of the week. The Hermitage is a beautiful traditional building, updated with well-finished modern en suites. Our beds were extremely comfortable. I had a lovely stay and would gladly recommend it and return. Thanks for a great visit!

We found a lovely, clean and well-presented place to stay, and Wendy was very helpful. Breakfast was lovely too. We parked on the road and always managed to get a space right outside. My wife and I chose it as a base for a couple of days nearer the Highlands before heading back to Edinburgh for the Fringe. We drove up the coast to see Dunnottar, a lovely old derelict castle, then crossed over to Balmoral for a visit, enjoying the scenery along the way. I'd highly recommend this accommodation.

Our first stop on a multi-day trip around Scotland was The Hermitage B&B, and my wife and I had a very pleasant stay. Wendy was warm and welcoming, our room was clean and cozy, and there were several good restaurants nearby. The full Scottish breakfast was plentiful and delicious, with menu choices to suit every taste. I'd recommend The Hermitage to anyone staying in Montrose.

Wendy is a superb host, and the breakfasts were among the best I've had in Britain, much better than most. The house is a lovely Arts and Crafts place on a quiet street just off the main road, and it's an easy walk to the railway station. There's a lounge for guests, and the en suite bedroom is roomy and well appointed. We'd definitely book again.

I spent five nights at The Hermitage and really enjoyed the comfort and homely feel. Wendy was attentive and helpful throughout, and breakfast was very well received, with plenty of choice. Nothing was too much trouble. I'll certainly recommend The Hermitage for future stays in Montrose!
