The Royal Heysham

The lounge's log fire made for a cosy spot on a cold night, and there was a great atmosphere among the guests both evenings. We had dinner in the restaurant on each of our two nights, and both meals were very tasty, though we were too full for dessert. Everything was excellent as always on our recent two-night family stay at the Royal. The room was lovely, with plenty of tea and coffee, fresh milk, a fabulous shower, gorgeous toiletries, large fluffy towels and a comfy bed. All the staff were welcoming, helpful and attentive. Special mention to Phil and Michelle, breakfasts wouldn't be the same without them, they're brilliant. We'd highly recommend The Royal and hope to visit again soon.

The food was excellent, and breakfast was probably the best I've had in ages. All the staff were friendly and made the bar feel family-friendly. The manager deserves a special mention for handling a tricky incident so well and going above and beyond to give us a positive stay. We had a great time here for our first night away with our newborn and dog.

We spent two nights in the family room as a family of three. It was spotless, comfortable and nicely presented, with good facilities. There was a problem on our first night, but the staff did their best to sort it out and their efforts turned a negative into a positive. We had dinner in the restaurant, where there's a good menu choice and the food was high quality. Breakfast was great too. It was quiet, so service was at the table, and there was a good selection. We visit the area often and will definitely stay here again.

The evening meal was fabulous, and breakfast was to die for. From check-in, the service was excellent. Our room looked out over the Square and had a large, comfortable bed. The attention to detail, including the bathroom toiletries, was excellent. We'll certainly return.
