Travelodge Edinburgh Musselburgh

It was cheap and cheerful and did what I needed. The room was clean and tidy, and I slept quietly after an engagement party that evening. Staff were friendly and welcoming, and let me check in a little early without charging extra. :)

The hotel was quiet, and we had no problems. It was clean, tidy and well kept throughout, including our room. The staff were very friendly and helpful, so I’d recommend it. I’m not sure why people call it dirty and tired. It’s a typical Travelodge. The nearby buildings could use some attention, and a cafe would be useful, but the petrol station behind the Travelodge is adequately stocked and has pleasant staff.

The area outside is a bit grim, but inside it’s like most Travelodges. Our rooms were clean, and for what we paid, we’re happy, especially with the staff. I could see my car in the car park from both rooms, if that matters to you. The BP garage around the corner has a good selection of food and drink. We had a small problem with our room and my wife wasn’t happy. We spoke to the supervisor Lewis, who couldn’t have done more to help.

The lady at reception was lovely, but she was the only good part of our stay. The hotel felt dark, run down and tired, and the nearby buildings were shut and boarded up. The bathrooms were dirty, and the car park was covered in shattered car window glass. Traffic raced up and down the roads all night, even on a Tuesday, so we didn’t get any sleep.
