Ambassador hotel

We were made to feel really welcome, and the staff were friendly and very helpful. We booked an impromptu overnight stay and had a fab time at the Ambassador. The live band and atmosphere made for a brilliant night, and we’d definitely go back when there’s another band playing. Our room was large and ensuite, with a lovely, comfortable bed. Dinner and breakfast were great, and the wine was lovely too. The location and parking were good, and the hotel has lovely period features, plus quirky seating on the first floor landing. It was just the ticket.

We only stayed one night while meeting friends from the area, but we’ll definitely come back whenever we can. Great atmosphere, fab food, a good choice of drinks, and lovely entertainment. The room was large, with a huge bathroom and a super-comfy bed. The staff were great too.

The breakfast was the one good part, along with the woman at the desk, who was kind and very polite. The rest of our overnight stay at the ambassador hotel was awful. The room was revolting, and the hygiene and condition were a real letdown. The bathroom looked horrendous, and there was no hot water or heating. Floorboards were thin and some were missing, so our bedroom was very loud with music playing until 2 am. I don’t think I’ll return, so it gets one star from me.

The receptionist was lovely, but the place had a creepy vibe and we won’t be back. Our stay was very uncomfortable, the beds were horrible and the bathroom was rough. The listing said we had an ensuite, but there was no information to say the bathroom was separate.
