Pen Mar Guest House

Liz and Dave made a great start to our time in Wales. They were wonderful hosts and taught us a lot about the area. We really enjoyed our stay at Pen Mar Guest House, and the breakfast was fabulous too. We’d highly recommend it.

We were a family group of eight and spent three nights here, though we could happily have stayed longer. Liz and Dave were so welcoming and knew the area inside out. Their suggestions for interesting places further along the coast were a big help since we didn’t know the area at all. Liz even remembered all our names when we came into the beautifully decorated dining room the morning after we arrived. The breakfast was outstanding, with a huge choice of cereals, dried fruit and yogurts, plus a sumptuous hot meal cooked perfectly by Dave and served by Liz. Bedrooms were spacious and tastefully decorated, with very comfortable beds, everything we needed and lovely modernized en suite bathrooms. The location is a short drive from Tenby, though it’s a bit far to walk to the beach with young children. There’s a Morrisons convenience store and a decent restaurant just a few minutes away on foot. Thank you, Liz and Dave, for such wonderful hospitality. This little gem is well worth recommending.

I arrived at the guest house at 730am after a truly awful night. The owners welcomed me while I sat in their reception area, made me hot, sweet tea and offered me a room. All I needed was to charge my phone so I could catch a train home to Cardiff. It was the lady's birthday, and she even drove me to the train station. I’ll never forget how kind you both were. Thank you.

The accommodation was modern and spotless, and the hosts were so friendly that nothing felt like too much trouble. They’d thought of the small things too, like fans and night lights or lamps in the rooms, plus ironing facilities. Breakfast had a nice range of cold options and drinks, and the full English was excellent. It’s conveniently placed between Tenby and Saundersfoot. We’d gladly stay again.
