Being brutally honest, I stayed in room 24, booked through Airbnb. The room is decent, though there are some scratches on the walls and the oven and pans in the kitchen are kind of a horror show. The bedding, sheet, and towel were clean. They provide basic kitchen things like plates, glasses, dish soap, and cutlery. You may need to buy salt, pepper, and oil yourself, as I did. Please also bring a steel oven tray or a disposable oven-safe aluminium tray. Reception closes after 6pm, which could be a big problem if you’re checking in later.

I’m really upset about the service. I paid a £150 deposit and was told I’d get it back. That was confirmed again after my stay, but more than a week and a half later, I still haven’t received the money. They haven’t returned any calls or messages. I stayed here from 1-3 May. The rooms were subpar, very hot and had little ventilation. Scammers. Don’t stay here if you have more sense than money.

Scam alert, worst experience ever. We booked an apartment and arrived around 7pm, but nobody was there to meet us. We called the number provided on vio.com and found that the phone was locked inside a wardrobe or storeroom. My whole family was stranded in the car for more than an hour without help. In the end, we had to urgently book another apartment. It’s been over a week and we’re still waiting for our refund. They gave us no support or response and wasted our time and money. Shame on them for running such a fraudulent setup. Avoid at all costs!

The apartments are in a great location with great views, but they’re a little rough around the edges and could use upgraded furniture. Staff definitely need to learn customer service. After we waited more than 25 minutes to check in, laptops, phones, and room keys were left out where people could take them.

The good things are the spacious rooms, the layout, and a walk-on balcony. It’s a shame, because with some care and investment this could be a place to be proud of. The photos and description are very misleading. It looks immaculate and well presented in the pictures, but the place needs a lot of repairs and some things are dangerous. Bathroom tiles were cracked and sticking out, nearly cutting my ankle. The sitting room fire door handles were coming off, so I had to wedge the door open with a chair. There was a screw through the broken kitchen cupboard door trying to hold its hinge on, badly patched walls in the hallway, and a huge torn section missing from the sofa. A spring dug into your backside when you sat down, and there was paint all over the sofa arm. The bench top had big, sharp, ragged chips. The freezer was completely blocked with ice, clearly because someone left its door open. The TV worked temporarily, but didn’t have advertised services like Netflix or YouTube. Kitchen utensils and tableware were very basic. The hot water was so hot it was untouchable and could scald you. The number to call just gives a dial tone. There’s no answer and no other way to contact reception, which closes early. The nightly rate was the same as, and in a couple of cases higher than, nearby well-known hotels branded as luxury apartments or hotels.
