We stayed four days, and Avril and Angus made us feel very welcome and looked after us so well. The room was excellent, breakfast was first class, and it was lovely to have a choice of teas, drinks and snacks in the room. We can't think of a better BnB we've stayed in anywhere. WORLD CLASS. We'd highly recommend it to anyone within reach of Newcastle, and we'd return if we could.

The little touches were wonderful: chocolates, biscuits, drinks, shampoo and body wash, and we wanted for nothing. Avril and Angus were incredible hosts and clearly put care into every detail of this beautifully presented BnB. Avril even catered for my girlfriend’s lactose intolerance. We came for the recent Sam Fender gig, found parking easy, and had a short, easy walk into the toon. Breakfast was lovely, and we had a nice chat before leaving. We'd call the stay absolutely perfect!!!!

After walking Hadrian's Wall in a week, my friend and I had an amazing stay here. I think it may be the best place I've ever stayed. The hosts were among the nicest people I've met, and nothing was too much trouble. My breakfast was the best of the holiday: fresh bread, fruit, yoghurts, a toaster and freshly squeezed orange juice. They offer other breakfasts too, but that was perfect for me. The room was beautiful, the bathroom fresh and clean, and the free toiletries were lovely. The bed was comfortable with lots of pillows and blankets. The heater was great for drying damp clothes, and Angus offered to dry anything extra in the front room. The decor is wonderful, clearly someone in the house is creative, and some of the rugs felt amazing underfoot. When I went out for dinner and my friend stayed behind, Angus checked we were okay and made sure I had the key to let myself back in. Best stay of the whole trip. I highly recommend it!

We love staying with Avril and Angus so much that if they're full, we'd rather change our dates than miss their warm welcome. The room is spacious, lovely and spotless, with every detail covered: generous refreshments, TV and music, chairs to relax in and a comfortable bed. There's always street parking available right outside. In the evening we usually walk to a nearby local Persian restaurant, which is unlicensed and serves delicious food at a reasonable price. The next morning, a sumptuous breakfast with Angus and Avril sets us up for anything, whether it's walking or taking an easy bus ride into the city or driving to the beautiful Northumberland coast. We couldn't recommend the accommodation more highly. John and Alex

We had three nights here and were overwhelmed by the whole experience. The location is perfect for a short stroll into the city, and Avril and Gus were wonderful hosts who went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our stay. The room was beautifully decorated and had everything, and more, that you could need away from home. It exceeded even most 5* hotels. Breakfast was the best I've ever tasted, from the continental choices to the excellent cooked breakfasts that kept us going all day. I was sad to leave, but I'll definitely be back because everything felt just perfect.
