Premier Inn Newhaven

We stay here often, and the rooms are consistently clean with very comfortable beds. The staff are always friendly and helpful. Amelia at reception is fantastic, and nothing is too much trouble.

John from the night team got me an extra pillow quickly when I needed one during the night. Earlier, Ameila at reception had welcomed me and helped with everything I needed. They both went above and beyond for my family and me, and I’m really grateful. Thank you so much! ☺️

There’s plenty of free parking, as long as you register at the hotel, and Sainsbury’s, including its fuel station, is an easy walk away. The ferry port is handy too. I’d stay again. This was my first time in a Premier Plus room, and for just a few pounds extra it was worth it. The room was very good, with comfy chairs, a coffee machine, mini fridge with water and upgraded toiletries. Note that the rooms are upstairs. I also used a special email deal for free breakfast, which is worth looking out for. I’ll review Brewer's Fayre separately, but despite some poor reviews, we had good food and service. There were a few problems I didn’t sort out because it was too late at night. The spare pillows looked mouldy or dirty, so we couldn’t use them; I reported that in the morning. The TV showed a weak-signal message and didn’t work that night, though it worked the next morning. The general cleaning was good, but the bath taps and shower-screen guard strip were really black and could use a deep clean or bleaching. Premier inn should set aside time for periodic deep cleans, and pillows should be checked weekly.

The bathroom was dated and very grubby, and for two people we had just one large towel and one small one. The window was dirty and covered in mold. It’s very close to the ferry, which is handy, but I doubt we’ll come back.
