Greg and Fiona were so welcoming, and upgraded us to the garden annex. It was very large, clean and comfortable, ideal for our dog, with access to a secure garden. Breakfast was included and had a great selection of good quality items. We stayed four nights in August with my partner and our dog. It’s an amazing place, just a short walk from Newquay high street. I’d recommend it and would definitely stay again when visiting Newquay.

The room was a good size, the bed was very comfortable, and the hotel was very clean. It’s in a quiet spot but still close enough to the shops and ocean. The staff were friendly and always willing to help. I’d highly recommend it and would definitely stay again.

The owners were first class and couldn’t do enough for my elderly mum and dad. The rooms were airy and spotless. It’s a lovely place to stay, and we’ll definitely go back.

I booked three nights, August 15-18, for a little break with my son before school started again. We’d saved up for it, but he became unwell, so I asked to move the booking to August 26 after checking that date was available. They refused and kept £103, even though I didn’t use the room. I checked later and it had been let to someone else on both dates, and August 15 was no longer available. They said I’d agreed to the policy when booking. I understand a policy can protect both the business and its customers, but they didn’t lose the booking income and still kept the money I’d put aside for our trip. They also said they were fully booked until the end of September and had been affected by COVID-19, so needed to recover. The whole world was affected by COVID, but that shouldn’t mean recovering by ripping people off. If the room had stayed empty, I wouldn’t have minded paying. How can the policy allow them to make money twice? That feels morally wrong.
