We used a £250 gift voucher from our children to book a special anniversary weekend at Beggars. When health problems after a hospital emergency meant we couldn't go, we asked to move the dates. The hotel staff referred us to Hotelgift, who sent us back to Beggars Customer Service, saying the decision was theirs. Nothing was resolved: they wouldn't change the dates, gave no satisfactory response, and stopped communicating. We feel they took our gift money. Absolutely shockingly bad service. Totally disappointed, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

The room and bathroom were clean and tidy, and the staff were welcoming. Beggars Reach Hotel is peaceful and quiet, set away from city noise, so it's a lovely place to enjoy some calm.

I was the hotel's only guest, and the atmosphere was extremely poor. The food was dreadful and the staff unhelpful. The hotel shouldn't have been open for business.

The rooms are good. The lady travelling with us asked for an accessible room. It had a great walk-in shower, but there was no handrail or shower chair, so it wasn't suitable for anyone with standing or walking difficulties.
