Premier Inn Northwich - Sandiway

Bridget was finishing work but offered to drive us to the wake, even though she didn’t know the area we were going to. We’d come down for a funeral, and I’d planned to leave my car at the hotel and take a taxi, but it was going to take about 30 minutes to arrive. She went above and beyond to get us there. Thank you so much. From the reviews I’ve read, you really are an amazing woman and part of a great team.

The manager listened and appreciated us raising the issue, and said Sarah can come across as rude and blunt and is working on it. That didn’t undo what happened or the way it ruined our stay. Sarah, the receptionist, was rude from the moment we arrived and insisted it was “the law” to give our nationality, even when we questioned her. My partner is Black British, and the exchange felt discriminatory and uncomfortable. At one point she slammed the pen down on the counter. Her attitude was awful and unprofessional. I’ve stayed in MANY hotels and plenty of Premier Inns and never had a problem like this, or been asked for my nationality. I’m baffled. If providing it is required by law, staff, or perhaps just Sarah, need customer relations and diversity training as soon as possible. 🙃

It’s okay, though the place is showing its age. Breakfast is unusual, like at another place, and when I got there at 9am it was closed. Ask for Mary if you want good service.

Last week I stayed here and the radiator kept clanging whenever the heat changed. It woke me several times and kept me up, so I reported it in the morning. Guest relations offer a “good night guarantee”, but their position is that you have to complain when it happens. Mentioning it in the morning apparently doesn’t count, and they offer no compensation regardless of what I experienced. Shoddy service. I’ve used Premier Inn five times, nearly 20 stays this year, in the last few weeks. This attitude will make it my last.
