The Governors Hotel

The location is handy, right beside the plantation garden and just a minute from the Cathedral of St John the Baptist. Rooms are spacious, beds are comfortable, and the staff are friendly. A good hotel for a reasonable price.

I had a good time staying here for New Year’s. It’s about a five-minute walk from the city, and the rooms were pretty good for the price. What stood out most was the staff. Everyone I spoke to was friendly and accommodating, and from what I overheard, the others seemed nice too, so I felt I’d be looked after if anything came up. A big thanks to Hannah for letting my girlfriend feed the fish, it made the trip, and to Ali for the 30-minute chat. Keep smiling, bro. Thanks again, guys, and happy New Year!

The rooms were spacious and clean, there was plenty of parking, and the staff were friendly. It was great value, and we’d absolutely come back. Thanks for a very pleasant stay.

For the price, the location is brilliant, considerably cheaper than other hotels near the city centre. We had comfy beds, good service from the staff, and plenty of storage drawers. The room also had a fridge/freezer, sink, and microwave. The bathroom smelled strongly of damp, though, and the white sheets had several stains. If we came back and that happened again, I’d probably ask for a different room.
