The room was fine and the food was lovely during our weekend stay for the UK Laurel & Hardy convention over the May bank holiday. The staff were brilliant throughout. Special shout-out to Emma P and Alex behind the bar.

My room was great and felt like home. Dinner was amazing, and the bar staff were very helpful choosing it with my allergy in mind. They brought it up to my room. Check-in was smooth and easy, and, as usual, all the staff were first rate. I’ve stayed at the Mecure before and hope to come back soon.

Gill kept in touch and arranged all the details for my 50th birthday party in the Presidential Suite. The big room and garden were lovely for the party, and I couldn’t fault the food or staff. I stayed overnight too, and the hotel room was very comfortable. Breakfast had a great choice, with helpful staff. Fabulous all round, highly recommend.

The evening meals were delicious, with portions just the right size. In 20 years of travelling, I’ve never had better ones at a hotel. Angie and her table team deserve special thanks, including Tilly, Chloe, emma, josie, evie, rose, donna and jack. The kitchen staff, who we don’t see, deserve equal credit.
