The central location was a real plus, and the price we paid made the stay okay. The room and bathroom were clean, the bed was comfortable and the temperature was fine. Still, the bathroom was so cramped that the sink pressed against me when I sat on the toilet. Breakfast wasn't great. The coffee machine was broken, and the instant coffee they had instead was undrinkable. I didn't like the eggs either and would have preferred fried ones, though the sausages were nice. We also forgot toothpaste. I wasn't expecting it free, but it would've been good to have the option to buy some or use a vending machine. The place is not much cheaper than Premier Inn, and I feel you get a lot more there. I could stay here again, but would probably pay a little extra for Premier Inn. Since I was driving, Rose Lane parking felt expensive too. A deal with the car park would be nice.

We had a lovely time staying here for a night while visiting Norwich with friends. The room was clean and spacious, and it was easy to get to cafes and restaurants. The train station is only about six minutes away. Chris, who I think is the manager, was gentle, accommodating, understanding and very polite. The guy at the bar was lovely too. I only wish all the staff were like them. One small suggestion: a fresh linen scent, or another scent guests can pick as a signature smell for the rooms. We were very satisfied.

The paid English breakfast was fab, and the happy hour drinks were a nice touch. It's a cheap and cheerful Travelodge in a handy spot for the Castle, so keep your expectations in check. Hourly and daily parking is expensive, but there's affordable overnight parking across the road from 6:30 pm to 7 am.

I've never stayed in a less hospitable hotel. I paid for two nights and the all-you-can-eat breakfast, but when I took a small glass of juice and a teabag that were sitting out in the cafe, Catia treated me as if I were stealing or “not following rules.” There was no sign saying not to take them. I told her I'd pay if they cost extra, but she wasn't interested in sorting it out. Instead, she rudely reprimanded me and kept arguing rather than charge me or apologize for her petulant attitude. It was probably the worst customer service I've ever had from a hotel.

It's a three-star place that feels like one. The bed was nice, though the carpet stains weren't. The room was basic and cheap, so you get what you pay for. I'd stay again for an inexpensive night when visiting Norwich, since the castle and town are close by. Parking in a nearby car park wasn't too badly priced either.
