The rooms were unique and lovely, especially the paris room. Everything felt nice and cozy, and the centre was only a 10 minute walk away. Amazing, unless you're wearing heels, then it's more like 20 minutes lol. The bed in the paris room was pretty hard and uncomfortable, and the showers weren't great. There was mould in one of them too. Our main complaints were about the owners. The man who owns the place was rude and blunt when asking us to move the car. We had a taxi waiting outside and told him, asking if we could move it when we got back, but he still made us do it then. The taxi waited, which cost us extra. The woman also conned us out of £10: we only came in 2 cars and ended up paying £30, when parking should've cost £20.

I wouldn't recommend booking here. I have the email confirming my reservation, but when I called after money was taken from my account, I was rudely told the booking was incorrect. The woman said she would be charged because I'd reported it to the bank, so she was cancelling it. I wonder if the owner's real issue is with Hotel.com rather than with potential guests. I have the email trail to show what happened.

The room wasn't quite like the photos, though it was still a decent standard, and the person checking us in seemed pretty uninterested. We had to ring the bell three times before anyone let us in. The neighborhood stayed noisy until around 4am, which isn't really something the hotel can control. Even so, I'd choose places like this over the bigger budget chains.

Breakfast was lovely, with a varied menu, and it's an easy 15-minute walk to the city centre. We stayed in the Tokyo room, one of the hotel's individually themed rooms, which made the place feel unique. The hosts were polite, enthusiastic and very accommodating, and we couldn't fault the service. We'll definitely return.

The hotel itself deserves five stars, but the woman who checked me in was so rude that I would've walked out if I hadn't already paid. The shower was another problem: half the doors were missing, and the water was either really hot or extremely hot, with no way to make it cooler.
